Powdery white quartz sand of Siesta Key

The Legend of Siesta Key Sand

The #1 Beach in the USA — And Here's Why

Siesta Key's sand is composed almost entirely of pure white quartz crystal — unlike typical beach sand, which is ground coral or shell. Because quartz doesn't absorb heat, the sand stays cool even on the hottest summer days, making it comfortable to walk barefoot all day long.

Siesta Key Beach has been named #1 Beach in the USA by TripAdvisor's Traveler's Choice Awards and recognized by Dr. Beach (coastal scientist Stephen Leatherman) as one of the finest beaches in the world. The sand has a silky soft, powdery texture that visitors describe as unlike any other beach they've experienced.

When you stay in one of our Gulf-front condos, this legendary beach is literally your backyard. No shuttle, no driving — just step outside and sink your feet into the sand.
